Steve and Shiro are here again! After completing both the Yorkshire Three Peaks and the National Three Peaks challenges and raising an incredible £9000 for BIADS, they are now taking on their greatest challenge yet for BIADS – an EIGHT DAY trek to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania! Wild camping, no showers, altitude sickness, Arctic conditions at the summit, are all part of this hike!
Standing at 5,895 meters (19,340 feet) Mount Kilimanjaro is an awesome prospect. Steve and Shiro have been working on their fitness for months in preparation. Steve says “the success rate is around 70-80% of those who start make it to the summit and while we are as prepared as it’s possible to be, we are realistic! But we’re giving it all we’ve got to try and raise some more much-needed funds for this wonderful local charity who supported my beloved Mum for so long before she passed away earlier this year”
So Ladies and Gentlemen please dig deep for this one, it will be the largest fundraising challenge BIADS has ever been part of and we are absolutely honoured that Steve and Shiro have chosen BIADS and our members as their charity once again.
