On 16th August, 26 family members, staff and friends of BIADS set off on the BIADS’ Walk. The weather was kind to us which was a huge plus and everyone managed to complete the 7 mile walk from BIADS centre to Worsbrough Mill Country Park and back, it was a fantastic day and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere. The walk raised an amazing £4528.20 and we are grateful beyond words for every one of you who took part, you are all incredible and your support is why BIADS is here to continue our work with people with dementia and their carers
Thank you to all the walkers, events like these would not be possible without you all but may I just give a special mention to one of our carers Babs Hartley, who does not mind me mentioning that she is 78 years young and although the walk got a little bit tough for her on the way back she would not give up, she refused point blank to let us go get her a car to pick her up and her determination inspired us all
Thank you to each and everyone of you who kindly donated, your kindness and generosity is overwhelming
A huge thank you to Wheels and Walkers café for hosting a free drinks station for the walkers, as well as an information stand, your continued support means the world to everyone here at BIADS and last but definitely not least thank you to all the volunteers that helped out on the day, we really do appreciate you all
