You can make a difference to our members lives
BIADS would not be able to run the services we do without our amazing volunteers and if you could join us you too could help those people of Barnsley affected by dementia. If you have one or two hours, a morning, afternoon or evening to spare we could provide the opportunities you are looking for to really make a difference.
We always have lots of volunteering opportunities and we are sure we could match you up with a service to suit you; here are a few ideas that may be of interest to you
Volunteer Befriender for Carers of People with Dementia
If you can commit to a few hours a week or month and would like to be a friend to a carer of someone with dementia we will be delighted to match you with someone who really needs you. Many carers feel isolated in their homes when their loved one finds it difficult to engage in community activities and having a befriender who visits just for them can be very welcome indeed.
We are always keen to meet talented volunteers that want to support the activities we run at BIADS Support Centre, circle dancing, Jabadao assistants, the gym, activity and life story work and much more. Maybe you have a talent you think our members might enjoy, singing, playing an instrument, just let us know.
The vital volunteers that man the kitchen making drinks, serving and washing up, preparing for activity sessions and tidying up afterwards. Maybe you would like to help us maintain the grounds around the centre on a regular basis or would just like to volunteer for collection days and help us raise funds.
If you have administration experience and would like to help us man our busy reception please get in touch.
For more details on any of these opportunities please call us on 01226 280057 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org
