Following a meeting we have taken the difficult decision to cancel all services with immediate effect until further notice.

This includes all services held at our dementia centre, the Oswaldtwistle day trip, the May holiday to Fleetwood, the Shaw Lane Easter party, outreach sessions at Monk Bretton and all scheduled volunteer meetings.  We have also decided to cancel our day care service.

This has been a very difficult decision for us to make as we are aware how much our members value our services and look forward to attending the centre, meeting with friends and having someone to talk to. We do however need to take into account the fact that most of our members fall within the most vulnerable category for coronavirus and as always the health and wellbeing of our members, volunteers and staff are of paramount importance to us.

Carer support staff will continue to make regular contact by phone with people on their caseload, however the carer support groups will be cancelled until further notice.

As staff will continue working we will be looking at different ways in which we can continue to support all our members – as soon as we have made these plans we will be in touch to let you know how we will be able to support you over the coming weeks.

We will keep the office open for as long as possible whilst following government guidelines. This means you will be able to contact us on the usual number – 280057.  Should the office need to close we will attempt to divert calls, so that you still have someone to contact.

At this stage we do not have any idea how long we will be affected and as it is still in the early days we do not have all the answers to any questions you may have, but please feel free to call us on 01226 280057 should you wish to discuss anything further.
