A fashion show to raise funds for Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support (BIADS), will take place at Emmanuel Methodist Church on Tuesday 21st November from 7pm.

Women’s clothing and accessories from leading high street stores will be modelled by church volunteers. Thanks to the Complete Clothing Company there will then be the opportunity to purchase items, which will be sold at discounted prices in sizes 8 to 20. A plus size range will also be available.

Dawn Webster is responsible for looking after the over 50s at Emmanuel Church. She said: “I wanted to organise a fundraising event and was aware that not only do some of BIADS’ members attend our own coffee mornings, but also Emmanuel Church used to be the venue for BIADS’ own events before the charity moved into its dedicated dementia support centre. So we have lots of connections already. I wanted to develop and continue the relationship we have, whilst raising funds for the charity, which does an amazing job at supporting people with dementia and their carers.”

BIADS’ Chief Officer, Linda Pattison, said: “We are so grateful to Dawn and her wonderful volunteers for hosting this fundraising event on behalf of BIADS. Emmanuel Church is a wonderful venue, and I hope to see many people there to enjoy what promises to be a great evening.”

Tickets are £3 and can be purchased in advance at the church or pay on the evening. For further details contact Dawn on 07594 549132.
