What’s your favourite cake? Is it chocolate fudge, lemon drizzle, coffee and walnut? The choices are endless. With the popularity of the ‘Great British Bake Off’ more and more of us are having fun with home baking and there’s no better excuse to bake a cake than to raise money for BIADS.
Our Friday morning drop-in ladies have raised £205 by holding a Halloween party, and are now asking as many people as possible to help raise more funds by making some cakes or buns and selling them to family, friends, colleagues and neighbours, with the proceeds going to BIADS. All the information needed to get started can be found in our special packs which are available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01226 280057.
Included in the packs are a poster to advertise your event with another on the reverse to let people know how much was raised, some cake cards to cut out and label your cakes and buns, some recipes to give you some ideas, a template to make individual cake boxes and an envelope to return the funds raised to us.
There will also be a Bake for BIADS day on 27th November at 10.30am at our dementia support centre when anyone can bring along their goodies to be sold.
Chief Officer Linda Pattison said: “The more people who take part, the more money we will raise and that means we can support more Barnsley people affected by dementia. Our target this year is to get 100 people baking – please join in and make a difference. I would also like to ask people to support our SOS appeal to save our carer support service. Details can be found on our website or by calling us on 01226 280057.”
